In “While You Were Sleeping,” Casting Crowns tells us of how Bethlehem missed the birth of Jesus. The Savior promised in the Old Testament was born, and yet had a humble birth that went unnoticed by many. Every year, this song applies to America more and more. Just Google “Christmas,” and you see that the first 67 images have nothing to do with what Christmas is all about. This Christmas, may the presents and worldly things not get in the way of the true meaning of the season. We celebrate Christmas because of the birth of Christ, God’s gift to man!
